Plus gas for small jobs, diesel mixed with a splash of engine oil for larger stuff, or if it needs to soak.

Another vote for PlusGas from me. Then if after a few soakings with that it's still not free, I might try heat.

I know that a lot of people go straight for the gas flame - but it's not always appropriate. For example, at the weekend I had to free off the throttle plate on a Solex carb. Soft aluminium carb with a magnesium cover, full of petrol. Plastic bushes and surrounded by rubber hoses. I don't think it'd be a great idea to point a gas flame at that.

or some random mixture conaing diesel, atf, tinners and acetone / thinners got a half full 45 gallon barrel i dunk stuff in for a week or two and top the random mixture up with whatever is about occasionaly

Plaus Gas, handed down from Father to son and only recently replaced the tin!

Never had any success with Plusgas even left overnight, same with GT85 which I can get cheap.
Where above fail to release one spurt of LT8, leave for 30 secs and just undo job done.

There was a thread on this last year approx £8 a can.
Where you can feel nuts twisting the bolts as in shearing, one spurt of LT8 has freed off, that's the difference.

must be incredible stuff if it can loosen an aluminium brake caliper when the slider pin is siezed in and it wont even loosen with a lot of heat and had to be drilled out in stages

Probably would have done that.
Worst ever had was an XR4X4 getting front discs off both hubs, had used Plusgas and what ever else was available then severe heat and 2lb hammer wouldn't budge off the car! Let it cool came across some remnants of LT8 left it for 5 mins and came off with same forces.
As long as theres a gap for it to penetrate perhaps even a thou whether rust or some other corrosion, leave it 30 secs partly sheared screws that Plusgas and the like was used on, the bolts may still come out.
Roll bar screws, discs, castings, aluminiums, exhaust etc all with a high rate of success.

Seriously good stuff I am hard to please, its one of a few things I would recommend. Let down by lack of marketing and used in food industry.
