The battery platform seems to support a large variety of tools so I have decided to go with it and build up some kit to go in my truck. I will go through some of this stuff in the next few weeks and air my thoughts, feel free to contribute.

This air pump although a tad noisy seems reasonable, the frame is the air tank, I will try it out on a tractor or dumper tyre and report back, it has a pressure cut out switch.

Also bought a fuel transfer pump, I have the 12v version of this and it seems a reasonable quality.

I made up a few of these half barrel fuel dispensers a while back, that the little Fakita pump would be a better option than the battery job that is not that easy to charge.

I bought one of these. Hasn't had much use but it feels solidly built but the torque is impressive. It removed the driveshaft nuts on my van without hesitating and they are torqued to 350 Nm.
It doesn't like 3Ah batteries and cuts out. 4Ah or larger only.

I bought a similar one to this a few years ago on Banggood. It has had a lot of use and still running perfectly.
Ignore the quoted torque figures. It will just about remove wheel nuts torqued to the correct 100 Nm. But for general mechanic use on suspension, engines, etc it is brilliant. The 1/4 hole makes it useful as a heavy duty impact driver too.

I also have a 125mm angle grinder, again from Banggood. It was brilliant and did a lot of work. It started messing around not coming up to full speed. Upon dismantling I found the bearings in the gearbox a bit dry plus a bit of poor machining. I have the bearings to fix it but not sorted yet. I acquired a brushless parkside grinder and I'm using it instead.

this is handy for electrical work, for heat shrink etc, however! you need to open it up and completely bypass all the safety systems by wiring the element straight to the switch, because it would always cut out for no reason even with a fully charged battery!

this along with a buck or boost converter can allow you to power almost anything from a makita battery,
Or use one of the 5v usb supply ones, into a boost converter,
I had an airfed welding mask, new battery was over 100 quid, it was 7v, first i tried 18v from makita battery, converter down to 7v, but that was too big a jump, so the converter got very hot, so I did 18v makita to 5v usb, and then boost converter to 7v, and now my airfed mask can work off normal usb battery packs, or the makita usb converter!

Im using a plastic 45gallon drum for diesel right now but the pump is a bit of a pain

I paid over the counter, I stopped at £260 when they started to look a bit extra worried inside the shop... tho they didn't say anything when I went in and paid

A good while back I was limited to 100 litres when I used to fill my wrecker up. Even then the cashiers looked a bit jittery if I was away from home, so that must have been a national limit.
Luckily I don't have to worry about things like that now. The thought of filling a 180 litre tank from empty now gives me a shudder.

I've bought a bunch of them including batteries too

Got one from AliExpress for 20 euro after having bought a few from Vinted at almost OEM price, but figured out too late unfortunately.
Anyways used them and found out they are good enough and certainly better than the 88V batteries.
Better runtime, quicker charging, and just butter performances but they don't have low voltage cut off, you have to be careful with them, paying attention when they start to drop in performances you need to charge them otherwise Makita charger won't ID them .

Those the clones I've got.
I've reviewed most of them on the forum, titles include "Makita Clone" search by those words and posted by function.
There's a lot about them.
I'd recommend all of them at exception of the comby drill that's garbage seek for used genuine Makita instead

I usually fill my tank before setting off on hols, but when filling my Disco the pump shut off at about 70 litres so I must have hit the cash limit, I had to go in and pay before topping up with the last 20 litres.

Its a 3mm plate set in the top and continuously welded all the way around, top lip is a bit of 12mm rod with the lip dressed over it, they hold about 60-65 litre’s. Its a lot less mess and a lot less chance of contamination than cans/funnels/pourers. Also fit snug under the lids of the pick up trucks. There are two grades of barrel, one is a lightweight, go with the heavy ones if you decide to make one.

With the truck pumps you normally have to take in your fuel or credit card to the kiosk before they zero the pump, no limit on these pumps so if you do need to fill a barrel or an ibc that’s the pump to use. That said there is a legal limit to the amount you are allowed to carry outside of the vehicles tank, I think its 20ltrs, some garages monitor this, others don’t.

I got shouted at over the tannoy at the Hogsback station for going to the truck pump as it was the only free one. Chap said it couldn't handle the flow.

The lorry driver next to me had came out and said it's okay, I've told him your Land Rover can handle the pump better than this useless lorry can.
