My Renault van has a 120 litre tank, a special order thing. When I went up north recently, I filled it from nearly empty.

I could see the cashier getting twitchy, and another guy in the kiosk looking on by the door. Pump didn't cut off though. £160

weirdly... Shell fuel card is loads cheaper at a Esso than Shell garages.... but there's no Esso near home :-(

That said there is a legal limit to the amount you are allowed to carry outside of the vehicles tank, I think its 20ltrs, some garages monitor this, others don’t.

I used to race stock cars & bangers for many years.

Normally fulled up (using a recycled flammable liquid barrel from my local chemical works, clearly marked as “race car fuel” etc - all legal) in a petrol station on the way to the track.
Only get grief once, cashier came out to inspect the “container” then told me the legal limit ( she was wrong but not worth arguing)..

This drill was purchased last year, body only. It was cheap, circa 25 quid, and I wasn't expecting or needing much. However, I really don't like it. There's no brake on the motor and the chuck is free to spin all the time.

Other knock off gear has been fine for what they cost. I have multiple grinders and an impact which has been good. Give the cheap drills a swerve.

On to the fakita lamps, bought a few different flavours.

This small torch is a useful addition, it’s got two usb charging points in the side, I had it charging both the iPad and phone at the same time. This gets a thumbs up.

This search lamp is also well made, it’s got three settings which is a waste of time, full bright is all they really need, don’t see the point in a small red lamp and a dip headlamp.

The cob type lamps are a bit clunky for what they are, probably won’t use them much.

This 8” pruning saw surprised me, it’s got more go in it than my 40v ferrex chainsaw, I like to keep this sort of thing in the cab of a machine.

I fill 3 or 4 20Litre jerry cans at a time for the stables genny, put them in a row across the boot so I just open the back door and fill them, luckily the way my local petrol station is laid out the front of the car is facing the cashier so unless they could be bothered to look at the CCTV they can't see what I'm doing.

I got stopped once filling a clear 5L Stihl petrol can. The guy had never seen a clear one before and ran out from the shop, took it off me and held it up looking for the approval markings.

Those are not bad, theres many variations but most are DC motors and no oiler.
This one is good, brushless, reasonable power, auto oiler.

Today I aquired disapointment.

Drop Hide Loose are currently hiding. Delivery was supposed to be before 5pm, currently on delivery 40 and I am number 82.

DX's tracking has shown all day that the delivery would be today and then at 4:45pm, just before customer services shut, updated to show it had not yet reached the delivery depot.

Whole day wasted when I could have been out working.

I want to go looking for DHL vans, to apply odorous substances to the air vents!
(No, I wouldnt actually do anything)

The Makita was 5x more expensive, but is a little quicker and the 40v batteries last a lot longer.

This air pump although a tad noisy seems reasonable, the frame is the air tank, I will try it out on a tractor or dumper tyre and report back, it has a pressure cut out switch.

Do you have a link to that? How much are they?

The fact that they are designed to be used 1 handed is bad. That one hand also has to keep a trigger pressed so your grip is compromised. The risk of an accident from a kickback is very high apart from the risk of chopping off your free hand.

I think they should have a safety switch requiring 2 hands be on the tool at all times.

I've been using chainsaws for over 40 years, I fully understand the risks associated with them.

I think you are a tree surgeon and also understand the risks.
But these are being sold to joe public most of which have never used a chainsaw and have no idea how dangerous they are.

You are relying on the strength of your relatively weak wrist muscles on 1 hand to resist any kickback. On a proper saw you are using the strength of your 2 arms.

How does the saw run if you don't press the trigger?

I briefly tried out one of these pruning saws belonging to a mate. It felt wrong and dangerous.
He is a chainsaw carver, very experienced woodsman with all the proper training. He shared my opinion and the tool was put away and never used.

The kickback on the pruners is negligible, the electric secateurs are more dangerous imo, great but dangerous.

My favourite Fakita by far is the secateurs. Until I used them I dismissed them but they really are useful, especially next to the chipper for quick action.

I have both

lost half my left index finger to the battery secateurs... knew they were dangerous the whole time, they were Chinese copies, no safety switch, the brambles I was cutting back pressed the trigger when I was trying to drag through out of the trees they were wrapped through

little mini chainsaw is much safer, I've got a copy one but was happy enough with it that I bought a legit one to use... legit one is a bit nicer and more powerful but there's not a massive difference... it's short and light enough that it's easy to hold away from yourself that you're away from any potential kickback. Normally my girlfriend will use that one while I use the full sized chainsaw, I cut stuff down the lops the branches off etc.

they're pretty capable too, cut some half decent trees down with it when the petrol saw was playing up, before I got the big battery saw

I bought one of these. Hasn't had much use but it feels solidly built but the torque is impressive. It removed the driveshaft nuts on my van without hesitating and they are torqued to 350 Nm.
It doesn't like 3Ah batteries and cuts out. 4Ah or larger

I bought this one as well not long ago (with Fakita batts as I have no Makita battery tools).
It's not been truly tested, but the 19mm head wheel bolts on my Renault Master Camper whizz off effortlessly. The clever auto-stop feature when undoing bolts (so they don't spiral off into oblivion but sit patiently on the end of the thread) is very neat & handy.

My other Batt tools are Erbaur (impact screwdriver has been great, while the meatier of the battery drill options is powerful & an awful lot less money than an equivalent popular brand, the 4.5 grinder has done me well too). A bonus was that when I was doing on site stuff with the generators - Erbaur stuff was a lot less attractive to the light fingered than Yellow & Red kit.

I've asked the question of the 3D printing Guru's if anyone has done an Erbaur Batt to Makita 18v adapter (cos I have good 4 & 5A Erbaur batts & a fast charger).
I don't have the workload to justify thousands spent on top brand power tools
