I bought a boat trailer of marketplace few days ago, proper gent & a blindingly good deal, even had excellent tyres on it which is a first! Found a bead roller on there too but the bloke wont answer any enquiries so obviously doesnt want to sell it! Win some lose some.

I've no FB account, well, I've had three but they'll all been closed on account of my not being classed by them as a real person. I sell things on there via someone else, mostly I use Ebay or forums as I can sort postage to here.

I think it was that I wouldn't tell them things like marital status, had a minimal friend list, I use a VPN, adblockers, minimal cookies, unlabelled photos et al. Not enough data to harvest. I don't blame them, that's their business model and they provide it free at point of use. I still use whatsapp, mostly because that's what the people I'm in contact with use.

Someone has recently opened a local FB marketplace group around here which has been quite interesting with the odd freebie that has come in quite handy. I got a second monitor for my PC for free, and just picked up some motorcycle magazines for a mate who isn't on the net. There's an increase in the number of people advertising on there from about 30 miles away, and people listing many, many items of clothing without including the size (each one gets a comment from admin requesting the size be added - if I was admin I'd do that twice and then they'd be out!), but some interesting stuff. Some of the prices are ambitious to say the least.
I've recently heard of trashnothing.com, which seems to be an aggregate of Freegle, Freecycle and perhaps some others. I joined up, put my postcode in and it tells me of free stuff that's available in the area. You can also list "wants", and there's quite a bit of ambition in there too - garden sheds, TVs, that kind of stuff - but if you don't ask, you don't get. I just grabbed a Sky HD 1Tb box which I thought would be handy for the disk drive, except that while the box is definitely for a Sky HD 1Tb, the device inside it is a very old Sky box with an 80Gb drive in it. A salient reminder to me to check things more thoroughly - I'd be annoyed if I'd paid money, but as it is, I look after some customers systems that would fit 40 times over on an 80Gb drive, and it's got a fan in the back that might be handy.

ive been the first to post on the site it was posted on then messged them through market place and it still got offered to someone else in the end its there stuff they get to give /sell to you ever they like
if its cheap it sells near right away
