Had to push the aa not to send a repair van. Trying to explain unless you have a new secondary ecu/uch and the ability to code it on site your wasting your time. Someone with a bit of sense played ball in the end.
Been there with the RAC, my LWB 2.8 Frontera lunched its transfer box by the Monmouth tunnels a few year back, transmission was jammed solid and no way to move it. Rang plod 1st as I was in the outside lane facing oncoming traffic about 50yds from the mouth of the tunels followed by RAC. Told RAC to not bother sending a van it needs a tow truck, usual reply from the call centre person but at least managed to express to them the unlikelyhood of the patrol guy repairing it. Luckily the patrol guy picked up on my description and rang me before coming over and just sent a breakdown truck
