No just normal euro torchSpool on gun?

No just normal euro torch
Sorry I think a spool gun would be a bit over kill for my needs, I’m wanting the extra length to be able to get around my mini to restore it,It was a suggestion
It’s a parweld 171cMany mig welders especially at the lower end of the market will struggle to push 4 or 5 metres of wire. if you are thinking of doing it with a Clarke mig 150 turbo I wouldn't even bother trying, it will need a euro torch conversion to start with,
Just buy or make a decent mains extension lead instead
The torch I have is the one that came with my welder, I might like an upgradeI always like a 4 or 5 meter torch anyways. But would extend the power lead also.
But then again depends on condition of your torch now as if it's a nice one. Why change?
its called voltage drop. if the cable isn't thick enough to overcome it it turns the cable virtually in to a long element and turns the power in to heat reducing the voltage. increasing the size of the cable on long runs overcomes itI would be curious as to if there might be an undesirable line loss from your point of connection to your welder by using an additional 15 metres of extension cord ?
How thick should the cable be ?its called voltage drop. if the cable isn't thick enough to overcome it it turns the cable virtually in to a long element and turns the power in to heat reducing the voltage. increasing the size of the cable on long runs overcomes it
yep the 16 amp sockets have stronger pins than the 13 amp sockets and plugs less prone to heat up and loose currentI would make a lead with a 16 amp trailing (commando) socket on one end and a quality 13 amp plug on the other, then fit 16 amp plugs to the welders, they are much more robust and safer for something that is going to spend most of its time kicking around on the floor.
