Hi all, i am wanting to widen the track on my car, now it uses MK2 Escort TCA and ARB. idea is to keep the ARB as is and cut of the ball joint on the TCA, wled of thread tube and fit a new ball joint, this will give me a 4.5inch wider track, just not to sure on the extension of the TCA and if the longer arm will alter the driving, this will keep the ARB in the same place on the TCA. And this will give it adjustment for later if needed.
Or extend the TCA by cutting in half and sleeving it etc, but this will make the ARB bush out further than the stock ARB, so then i will have to cut the ARB in the middle of the brackets then sleeve and weld to the length needed.
Just not sure on which to o go for, i am looking at ford granada TCA`s, these are just that bit longer by 600 between chassis bush and ball joint centre, but then the ARB will be out again, but if i can cut the ARB then this will do, but, as always there is a but, i think the bgranada TCA`s have more a dog leg inn them than the Escort.
hope somebody understands all that and can advice
