The Rolex my wife bought me 15 years ago cost about £3.5k and it is worth a little more than that now. The good thing about a Rolex is that you can have any dial, case, bezel and wristband combo that you like. You can go flash or plain. I get it serviced by Rolex every 5 years or so which costs around £300-400, but that includes any parts needed for the movement. It comes back looking like new.
