Darn Sarf is where you sell it, back in the '80s and '90s my aunty used to come up from London where she lived to the North West where I lived and go around the Antiques shops buying stuff she liked for herself and would then arrange for a London based antiques courier to transport it down to her. Quite often they'd offer to buy the item off her for more than she'd paid up North.

They've been doing that for years over here. Some Dublin antique dealers were scouring the countryside for old furniture and offering peanuts for what was thought to be auld crap. They'd clean it up and ship it out to Amerrykay for a handsome profit, which was even more handsome by the time it had been sold on at the other end.
A friend has an ancient Georgian dresser that's covered in red paint. Probably worth a King's ransom, but he won't part with it, as it's been in the family farmhouse kitchen for donkey's years and has a lot of memories for him (and his parents too).
