One of the girls in the place I work rang up for heating oil ,, got the quote , and before she gave in the credit card details to pay for it , it had gone up again by another 20 quid. They stuck to the original quote , but its really getting crazy , and I dont think its really started yet...

From 1 April, our prices will be increasing
We're increasing our electricity day unit rate from 23.965p to 33.100p per kWh and our night unit rate from 14.330p to 19.793p per kWh. Our electricity standing charge is increasing from 24.113p to 41.749p per day.

We're increasing our gas unit rate from 4.052p to 7.319p per kWh and standing charge from 26.112p to 27.219p per day.

These prices all include VAT at 5%.

Fortunately I can afford it but the people I feel most sorry for are those already struggling.

It’s just profiteering at its best .

Sad when you look at low earners ie the minimum wage £7.50 and so on . And break down their daily costs , work an hour to buy fuel to go to work , work 2 hours to pay for the days electric , work 2 to 3 hours to pay for the daily food for the family , work an hour for the daily gas . And so on and on .

Then there is the other bills council tax , insurance , rent / mortgage , water bills , clothes , car , children .


The poo is about to hit the fan and a massive influx of people going voluntarily bankcrupt , handing the proverbial keys into the mortgage company .

Almost exactly the same increases as Bulb, so I assume all the main providers have got together and agreed the costs, so customers don't start abandoning ship to find the cheapest.

still a big con while the suppliers line the pockets of its shareholders but dont upgrade the networks

next they will start to scream for grants to pay for the upgrades that they should have done all for the new power supply from the new power station

The reaction to rising unit costs is to cut back. There is no escape from standing charges, so the resellers don't see any significant drop in their incomes.

It has the effect though that I'll now be checking other suppliers prices on principle. It's an underhand method. I don't mind paying for what I'm using. I do mind being screwed though.

there all waiting for the new grants to supply this

charge as you drive on many roads to come it will more likely be a 2x2 lane system for both cars and wagons to charge as they drive along major routes

or could be used to drive the system just like the old tramway system

but it will all be grant based

cars cant use the wagon system so have to have there own system but its really viable for both x2 2 lane system built on our existing road structures
