Yes look quite good for over a 100 years, they say it’s something to do with no wood munching critters in the cold water

Always fascinated by the Shackleton story. The televised series starring Kenneth Brannagh was excellent, I've watched it several times.

Some guys in re-enactment decided to 'do' Polar Heroes. They badgered the film production, and managed to score a tent from it. But that isn't the amazing thing. They were unable to source the clothing from the film, They knew of the who had made the originals so they organized a visit. Conversations ensued and they were discussing the type of cloth, Someone said 'Hang on a bit' and disappeared for a while, Came back out of the storeroom. With what remained of the bolt they had first used!!! Bear with me, it gets better. The group then went over to a sewing machine. THE SAME ONE THAT HAD BEEN USED TO PUT THE ORIGINALS TOGETHER!!!. You just can't get more authentic than that.

1bar per 10 meters in roughly in seawater. So it would be 300.9 bar / 4423 psi at an average relative density 1025, it does vary from place to place. At those depths though it stabilises around 1028.

In my past life I used to often watch live camera footage from ROVs in deep water, so of the fish looked see through as there was so little natural light, other almost prehistoric as they were not affected but the outside influence of man, or climate.

Just had a conversation with Swmbo about this - apparently there is no plan to retrieve it? So I have a question - why bother looking for the bloomin thing. We kind of knew where it was, now we know exactly, big deal..
Another non story then, with a massive cost implication.
