Good Afternoon Gents,
So i recently managed to get myself a nice old Record 34 vice that ill like to derust and clean up.
Ive never tried electrolysis before but wanted to give it a go.
Ive read all about it and have a basic understanding of how it works and how to set it up but im not sure how to set up the PSU and im not very good with electrics.
I have an PC PSU from an old Bitcoining miner Its rated for 1000W
I also have a 55 Litre tank but im not sure if its to small?
For the Anodes I'll just use some old scrap steel i have about, i have about 150 old horseshoes i could maybe use?
Now for the questions
How should i wire up this PSU? Would i need to use one or both of the green PCI-E rails (rated at 28Amps each)and just cut the connectors off and join all the yellow (12v) wires together and all the Black (ground) together and then connect + to the anodes and - to the vice.
Will the psu just use whatever it needs depending on the electrolyte strength anode cathode size etc?
Do i need a bigger tank?
The vice is pretty big, (I may dismantle it if i can) do i need to use anodes of equivalent surface area or will 6ish horseshoes be enough for example?
