Sheet doesn't last five minutes compared to solid. Use sheet, and you'll be replacing it at a rate of knots.
That's the daddy! It's working tonight with charger on full tilts but I can this set up a whole heat better, little side project for Saturday morningWith the size of piece you are trying to de-rust, I would advise more anodes all around the edge:
Easy to just wire them together.
This is what I mean (off t'internet)
I do and I don't. You will use just as much material from rod as you will from sheet. I just went down the local Metal Supermarket and got some offcuts of 4mm plate. It's all about surface area so you need a lot more rod than sheet material, mesh is fine but it will deteriorate very quickly unless it is very chunky.
Thanks guys ive got it worked out now, yes I do have a smart charger, it's capabple of doing lots but not the way I want to, ive had it on maximum boost charge for a while now and the whole lit is fizzing away like mad with plenty of crud building up on the shiney anodes. Its sounds like your using a smart charger, in which case either connect a 12v battery in parallel or experiment with bulbs as mentioned above. pc power supplies work well also.
Cheaper and better ones are available than those from Maplins, have a Google for 'Fusion Power Supplies'.
im using soda crystals from tesco.so question is what works better washing soda or citric acid?
The adjustable Voltage/Amperage setting and digital readout is convenient on the more expensive 200W PSU.
It's a must. Are you guys using dc current
