I've found that with cheap air impact guns, they're hopelessly weak and my Milwaukee (the smaller 400 something ftlb model, which was all that was out at the time) will outdo the majority of them with no bother.
A quick look at cheap impacts and they're mainly in the 150 to 200 ftlb range... by comparison I have a 1/2" one with 1200 ftlb ready to play with, I can tighten a wheelnut with a 5 foot pipe by bouncing all my weight on it, and even running off an inadequate 6mm air hose it'll undo it. Impacts and impacts!

!200 ftlbs? Do you mind me asking what make? Have an M7 1/2" here that isn't a bad make, think their the same as King Tony, and that's only 600. I think the Milwaukee 3/4" is 1200 ftlbs tightening torque and 1600 loosening so the same as your gun.

It's really the same spec as the 3/4 guns. Breakaway is 1200ftlb (1600nm), working torque is 800 ftlb.
The Milwaukee also has a breakaway torque of 1200 ftlb, and 750 ftlb working torque. Although it's highly rated by those who have one, I've not used one myself (I'd have one if I didn't already have it's now baby brother).
Although it's meant to pretty much have the same figures as the SO air tool, I find it hard to imagine that it could actually be as powerful as that monster air gun. I could be wrong though, but the Milwaukee I currently have is around 450ftlb torque, and although I really like it I'm sure the SO has far more than 3x the power, I suspect some of the figures are best taken with a pinch of salt. Still a great gun though.

Yea, there's a reason Snap-On has the reputation it does. Might cost a bit more but over the length of time you will be using the gun it doesn't cost a whole pile. Plus you can get spares for Snap-On if anything goes wrong with it.
I have one of the 1" air guns here. The Milwaukee 3/4" wouldn't come anywhere near it but its a pain to work with. Probably the bones of 30lbs weight and a 3/4" airline on to it makes it difficult to work with in tight spaces. That and the fact if the nut doesn't come off your hand will. Never seen it fail to take off anything yet though.

I think that's how it always works, and will continue to do so for some time yet.
You can have the handy little battery powered unit for holding onto for hours without tiring or struggling for access, or you can have something which will always remove the nut no matter what.
Although on paper the specs are fantastic and I am confident it's a great tool, I can't see any way that any cordless offering could come close to your 1" impact for performance, that 1" gun must be some piece of kit.

It's actually a cheap US Pro Tools one but it still does everything I need. As I said, never seen it fail yet and its taken tine bolts off a power harrow that I saw a Wurth 1" gun failing at a years ago. The compressor and air lines might not have been up too the job though with the Wurth gun. That's going back to when I used be playing in the yard rather than working in it so the memory is a little hazy.

That sounds pretty decent, do you know the model and how much it cost? Would be interesting to see how it compares to the SO of mine, and to be aware of if I ever find something mine can't turn!

Saying that, I snapped a 1 inch breaker bar from them one time with nothing on it only my hand and the next time the seller called he replaced without asking a question. I was certain he was going to ask what length of pipe I had onto it.
