Theres also a whole load of clone batteries and chargers available for them tho I have not tried.

The m12 stubby impact is possibly the best available, the ratchets are good, the rotary tool is the best available (I use for chainsaw sharpening), cut off tool is decent. Im likely to order the 3" sander but not yet decided.

That then puts it at double the cost of a Chinese model, and I'm still left with a tool that can't use my current batteries, and a battery that only works on 1 tool...the same as if I bought the much cheaper Chinese option.

This is collection only but a very good deal for anyone local. This is what I have.
Also the alemite chucks are far superior than anything else and are only a few quid so well worth buying regardless of which grease gun you get

And you worry about asking a company with that amount of investment in their equipment to supply proper maintenance gear?

Who will get blamed when your cheap Chinese crap either fails to grease, or blows seals through over-pressure?

Had a customer with a three million quid machine complaining about grease contamination of product.
When I questioned the pressure on the auto-lube system, set by us, and now modified by them, things went rather quiet - over-pressure to the supply pump, massive increased lube pressure, blown seals, grease where it shouldn't be.

I never bought a brand new grease gun in my life - everyone I got - has just sort of turned up - either with garage premises I bought - or from my Dad...

I got a poop collection of grease guns - but they were all free...

Skill saws another thing - I got them everywhere - little ones - big ones - one's so big I dare not use them - but I have never ever gone out and actually bought one (parted with money). God knows - just how I got so many...?

Be as bemused as you want...You've missed the point...and I don't know where you got the notion that an electric grease gun is going to blow any seals ..the fitters that do the maintenance on these cranes all use them just fine...so has every fitter I've ever seen doing the maintenance at other companies, and the techs from liebherr that come out to service the brand new cranes after 100 hours...oh and most other operators...

Now, as for asking the company to provide proper maintenance gear, they have done, I have all the grease I need, a grease gun that works just fine for it's intended purpose and have had full training on how to use it, the maintenance procedures, intervals and which grease goes where, but that's not even close to the point of this thread.

The point of this thread is that given I'm earning 2500 quid a week on this job I fancy treating myself to something that will make my own personal life a smidge easier, but isn't going to annoy me as much if it gets nicked while the crane is left on site. So the answer there lies in a Chinese cordless grease gun

Not once have I said the company wouldnt provide something I needed, but I'm not the type to go begging for stuff that isn't fully necessary. If my standard grease gun broke, I would have another delivered to me the next day, same for my tyre inflator and any other kit on the crane. If I need grease, it gets brought to me, or left in van at the depot ready for when I'm out next, If I needed gloves, or rags, or brake cleaner...even air freshener, I can get it whenever I want. I really don't understand why you think I'm afraid to ask for something or that I wouldn't get it.

I'll just delete the post given it's caused you so much anguish

I think what the nice chap @bricol is trying to say is: Most plant is rated and 7000psi for greasing and these new battery tools are rated at 10000psi.

(I do get his point - he is making a valid point).

You can't do any damage with high pressure on plant machinery. You can blow remote grease lines if they are blocked. But if they are blocked then you have bigger problems anyway. And bearing seals are damaged by volume of grease not the pressure

That could be a concern, but the laser brand manual gun I have is rated at 10000psi and the electric one in my basket is only rated at 8000psi, plus the fact I know that when the motor on the auto lube pot on my 60 died, the hand powered grease gun didn't have the pressure needed to manually grease the whole system or push grease anywhere.

The auto lube pots aren't sealed, and the king pins grease procedure is to grease until you see fresh grease squeeze out

I'm all for relevant comments but there was far too much assumption going on a d not a single nit of it was relevant to whether a Chinese grease gun will last any length of time

Milwaukee all day long, just take the battery home.
I have the M18 one, but tbh it is total overkill as a battery literally lasts forever, M12 will do the job and be lighter to boot.

Been using it daily for over 2 years and hundreds of cartridges down the line with no problems.
EP3 grease seems to be much easier to use than EP2, and seems to last longer is whatever you are greasing.

Yes and no, I pushed on with it and got it to a point it would spray grease with a reasonable spray pattern, but it needed more air than the crane could provide. If I ran it from 12 bar on the shop hose it would work, but the crane tops out at about 9.5 bar and that just gave me a sputtery blob out the end.

Then I came to a firm that keeps on top of maintenance and has got 3 spray greasers hanging on the workshop wall free to use by anyone at any time. Plus if I am on a long term job, such as the one I'm on now, the first day off the job and it goes into the workshop for a full once over before going back out again so I sort of abandoned the idea after that. Fortunately I didn't manage the spray gun, so it was returned to a fully functional spray gun that I will now use for red oxide when I do the decking ironwork in the summer

I bought a one van grease gun. Was rubbish. Didn't help when I went to change hose on it ball bearing and spring shot a cross room. There was a chain device to hold it open was a nightmare fighting spring and chain to get lid on. Grease everywhere. I threw it in skip in a fit of anger and went back to hand gun

The one Linked by 8ob in the other thread (post 7 on here) should do what your after.

I know what you mean about cheap tools that can be left and not worried about, my 2511 clone chainsaw is like that, its actually better than the £500 genuine one, but a thief wouldnt know it and they wouldnt be able to sell it for much.

Yellow tools being Dewalt/Stanley? There are clones for that system too.
