EU5 / EU6 emissions are that clean, it's a tell-tale for a remapped or EGR/SCR/DPF 'defeat' in the software, just check the exhaust for soot. There are still pollutants coming out though, the concern is that the particles are now so small that they can freely pass into the blood through the lungs, so there is some sway in the argument that bigger particles are better less worse as they'll drop out of the air quicker or be trapped by natural filters

Its like all thr microplastics that are pretty much in every part of the marine food chain now.

Emissions , its the one thing thats destroyed diesel engines , in fact engines in general . I wonder if on balance more garbage has been pumped into the atmosphere creating cleaner engines that dont last than they have saved by getting rid of late 90s diesels that lasted forever relatively speaking.

Well I've done 1000 miles since fitting the new EGR valve with no warning lights and no fault codes showing. Now need to change the DPF £2083 +vat for a genuine one or £515 for an aftermarket one.

The core failing like that is highly unusual on Transits, but PSA did use a slightly different setup, and I've only ever had to work on a few of those.

I'm guessing there is soot inside the tail pipe?
If there's not, it could have just been smoke from a regen.

Yes soot in tail pipe. It was like it last year but the tester was kind to me. He has since retired so I've got to bite the bullet and replace it. It's not far over 0.76 the pass is 0.5

Well I fitted the £515 one and after 500 miles no smoke so far and no warning lights. Let's hope it passes the MOT next week
