He has cancelled it for me.

But as above eBay actually add commission on postage.

This was a genuine mistake BUT I can't work out why eBay allow such stupid postage charges.....I can't imagine he is the only guy to miss the decimal point.

I accidentally put a bid in for £1200 instead of £120 luckily for me I won it at £310.08

I was cooking at the same time and a bit distracted but worked itself out in the end

I bought a radio, clearly and repeatedly listed as 18w. On arrival it was 5w.

Multiple messages and offers of a small refund that I kept refusing.

Got to the stage where I could open a case but instead I left negative feedback. Then came the "please remove feedback" message, I agreed upon receipt of a full refund however once I got it I forgot to change the feedback

Soon as the items in waiting for arrive il be leaving some nice negative feedback.

Won some Korg kaos pads for the kids. Midday
Moved some money around 5 hours later when I got home and paid

Next morning a notification from eBay that an item I'm interested in has been relisted

Yup the Korg pads. Same seller same description

Chased him up. Apparently he always does it to save being messed around by people
He won't like my feedback and I won't remove it

To be honest I put the bid in 2 days ago and forgot about it.
The biggest problem was the way eBay eBay autopaid and gave me no options to alter the postage option.

I’m surprised this happened, I gave up on eBay a long time ago but last thing I sold it said my postage was unfair and adjusted accordingly. Policy changes all the time I suppose

So you bid on an item on ebay with a £475 shipping charge on the assumption they had made a mistake, and then were surprised to find you were charged £475?

eBay don't vet every listing and they have no way of knowing if you are bidding on a twenty pallets of concrete blocks or a yacht, - so a £475 shipping charge would be perfectly acceptable in many cases.

I can't say I've had many problems buying on eBay, and the ones I did were resolved pretty quickly - however buying on any auction site is the very definition of caveat emptor.

both times I got screwed for a not insignificant sum it was PayPal / eBay and their buyer protection.
Since they have split it’s a bit better I believe

I have a feedback of around 2000, been a member for years, never had much problems until this year,
loads of stuff not arriving or arriving damaged/not as described,

some small stuff from china took 2 and a half months to arrive, at 6 weeks I got a refund as lost, and now cant access the listing to pay them.

Well ebay surpasses them selves. despite assuring me they would not try and take £494 in £475 postage THEY DID. But 4 days aftyer purchase was cancelled. They never got it!
But they were supposed to refund me £494 today so I will see how that has gone shortly...I bet they dont. lol

whats annoying is the bigger british companies take the urine by having stupidly high postage rates and makes them uncompetitive for a few bits.

We went through all the whys and wherefores but that aside (I do see your humour) but it's eBay's audacity to tell me when an item is cancelled they don't take payment...but then 4 days later (not two days like normal) but 4 days later try to take it. Despite it being cancelled is disgusting.
And as for PayPal....no one human available to speak to EVEN from a call back. Diabolical.
