Hydrogen cooled generators have been the norm in the power industry since the 40’s, and some of those plants towards end of life were far from ideal. I don’t see a problem with using it over and above petrol, and much like petrol it’s not going to turn into a bomb on wheels.I'm just not keen on the idea of hydrogen...seems bit crazy to me but maybe they can make it safe somehow.
The issue as stated is how inefficient it is to split it from oxygen at the moment. Government can claim it’s is produced by wind or solar panels, but they are far from “green” and the energy needed to manufacture large quantities would be better spent just using it…
