DVI Cable

Ye my sentiments exactly. Plus sending me a different lead seemed to defeat the object totally as no like for like comparison with pin outs.


Really what i need is someone with a PC with working high def, plug my monitor into that PC to prove its not the monitor. Unfortunately i have no one with such a PC so I'm stuck without spending carriage charges back to the supplier, plus i will be without a pc during that time.

I so love the modern world!

I've got one here - it looks like the DVI-D Single link on page 3 of the thread, and pin 24 does not beep.

Just plugged it in and it worked. Does sound like graphics card or monitor problems you guys are having.

It's strange though because pin24 is one half of a pair.

Just to add........

I now have a new computer with an Nvidea Geforce 8400GS video card and the DVI connection works fine with my existing cable and no settings needed to be changed on the PC.

The image is better, on VGA the text had a slightly coloured edge to it which has now gone.
