A crash gate is normally used by airport fire trucks to get out to an off airport incident, they have a catch that can be unlocked by hitting it with the front of the truck.

I expect a lot of the emergency services are on higher alert at the moment, some areas have declared major incident status so they can access more resources if needed.

Just been to the stable and noticed the gusts are lifting the front of the Clarke shelter even though I fixed it to 4 foot rods driven in at the base so I've ratchet strapped the frame to the quad so the wind needs to lift an extra 200kg now.

We have another three or four feet. This is about it's highest level that it normally gets, so we shall see. Photo is rough because the wind is making the camera's mast wave about.
