Well my repair list is increasing, lost some slates on the dining room, top of the house (as well as a fasica board that ended up 300 yards away). Lost a big pine as the ground has basically liquified underneath it - shame as I'd rather the ash trees disappear.

We lost a couple of fence panels and the poly greenhouse went over but so far it's not too bad. Next door has lost her whole fence and the next one over again has lost thier whole fence into the allyway along with the garden shed.

Traffic around here is rammed out, Dartford Bridge is shut so the tunnel is at half capacity. Medway bridge is also closed becaue a lorry has blown over on the bridge and looks like it's tottering on the edge.

Oh and the O2 dome has a huge tear in it too.

Talking earlier to a friend who lives close to Lands End, he told me Sennen Cove lifeboat station has lost its roof. I found a photo of it on the BBC news site.

Just had a call from my mate. The cops have had to close off part of the road on Finsbury Pavement because the wind is blowing the site crane's hook weight about so violently it's beating the crap out of the crane jib.

I thought they leave the brakes off when they come down, so the wind can blow the crane round (i.e it blows to the bearing with least resistance)

Makes sense. I was thinking some sort of sensors but leaving the brake off is simpler

Been pretty windy here most of the day, just had a few really nasty gusts and the power is now off. Surprised it lasted this long. luckily cordless tools for the win.

Went out to the garage for a bit but the sound of the roof tiles moving was a bit unsettling so I'm hiding indoors. Biblical rain too now, that's more like it.
