Does it matters what colour primer is used when applying basecoat? Will it change the basecoat colour slightly if you you sprayed on black primer to say grey or white primer?
ive just finished painting a wing and bonnet on my car which was a new from eurocarparts which had the factory black primer and has come out slightly darker in shade than the rest of the car.
I had the paint matched to the existing shade of the car but after painting its come out slightly darker so im thinking maybe its because ive painted on black e coat primer and maybe i should have laid down grey primer first.
The colour im painting is a light blue/grey.
Can anyone confirm if the colour of primer will change the shade of basecoat or is it just the paint shop got the colour matching wrong?
