yes it needs further sanding , those dimples are where you knocked the top off the peel and left the bottom of the crater /dip

maybe a guide coat would help you ? mist over some contrasting colour and it shows how far you need to sand

Thanks, I have some GC but the primer goes on quite shiny and sands matt so I'm not finding it too useful. With the grey primer it was a must.

Go down to 180 grit and finish with 320. Tint the topcoat of epoxy in preference to adding acrylic 1k, unless misting it on as a guide coat only.

Sorry, probably badly explained on my OP.

I've applied around 6 costs of grey Lechler 29107 primer followed by 2 coats of 29107 tinted red. Started with 180 grit, 240 now 320. I've broken through the red in places to the grey but still have the mottled effect which is leading me to suspect another coat would be beneficial.

dont reprime over the rough surface , and if the further coats go on rough you will keep getting the same

Fairy snuff, but next time you order paint, ask for a small sample of tint. Cheaper than getting them to mix extra paint. :thumbup:
