yes it needs further sanding , those dimples are where you knocked the top off the peel and left the bottom of the crater /dip

Sorry, probably badly explained on my OP.
I've applied around 6 costs of grey Lechler 29107 primer followed by 2 coats of 29107 tinted red. Started with 180 grit, 240 now 320. I've broken through the red in places to the grey but still have the mottled effect which is leading me to suspect another coat would be beneficial.
