Dishwasher motor bearings

Any appliance gurus out there?
The circulation pump seal has been leaking on our 4 year old Bosch dishwasher which now means the bearings grumble more than my wife.
The motor still runs fine, albeit noisily, but does anyone know if the bearings can be replaced separately from the motor?
The bearings aren't available from any spares places before you go pointing me towards links like Espares etc, but I'm wondering if there's a possibility I could remove them and match them up with something from a bearing supplier?
A new motor from Espares is £162 so add the cost of the seal kit and impeller and it's already way over £200.

Not sure on the seals, but possibly a chance they are off the shelf too..... As for the motor bearings, I see no reason why not, might be tricky if they are in blind housings on the end. Probably not though.

Get the numbers if poss, measure up to double check. May be a shielded type, watch for that.

bearing reference numbers.

Simply Bearings do a bearing ready reconer if you can get the 3 sizes off yours,

either take the ref to a supplier, check online or buy off Simply. A bearing supplier can probably supply you gasket material to make a gasket if you get desperate.

The seal isn't a 'standard' type, here's what the kit from Kencospares comprises of, impeller, shaft seal and case seal. It's the shaft seal that leaks, allowing water to enter the motor bearing.

I'm amazed at how bad it gets but how little water gets past it, there's a huge gap between the impeller shaft and the seal but I think the seal being spring loaded pushes the face towards that white ring on the impeller which helps keep things 'watertight'.
The motor looks easy enough to get apart so I should be able to measure the bearing up easily enough.

my last dishwasher had plain graphite bearings and no amount of searching and contacting the pump manufacturer in italy got me anywhere. i wrapped the shaft with tinfoil which got it going again for a couple of weeks and then eventually i got some replacements for free from a company called 'igus' who make some sort of polymer plain bearings which managed to do the job. then the heating element went....

Can you get it apart enough to at least see if it looks like the bearings will come out easily enough?

shaft seal, still worth asking in a bearing supplier, Just today I wanted a seal for a trolly jack, went to my bearing man -no good- he sent me to a hydrolics company, checked it with a vernier, cross referenced it, a new special seal will be here Friday after 10, £2.67.
Google and other search engines didnt come up with anything as I had no reference number. Just the jack model-made in China!!!!

so best of luck, (scrap mans pickup for a second hand machine??) or can you swap the pump for somthing similar?? and make a bracket

The rear cover comes off easily to reveal the bearing is fitted to the motor shaft, not inside the cover as I expected.
The front one (which is the one I need to replace) is being a bit stubborn, not sure if it's stuck in with crud or what but I'll have a bash at getting it apart tomorrow.
The number on the rear one is 608Z3, the manufacturer is NSK.
I've found a similar one on Ebay though it ends in ZZ, not Z3 so if I can ascertain if they're both the same bearing and the numbers are interchangeable then I should be sorted as long as I can get it apart.

I suspect the suffix refers to the fit of the bearing, i.e. how free the bearing runs. High speed low load would be slacker than something on a slow running drill, for example.

I think the Simply Bearings website explains this.

The z tells you its a shielded type, the 3, I think refers to the clearance.....but normally shown as 608zc3.....

the last two prefixes are the shield type a ZZ is a double shielded bearing, IIRC of metal type.

The first four numbers are the size, with the first two being the thickness related to the OD this tells you the duty the second two are the ID.. the last three prefix's are the shield type ZZ/ 2RS/ VV etc....

Theres no prefix for fit this is standard and bearing fits are donated in things like a Zeus book, although for ease of Assembly sometimes something like a eccentric locking is used.

you will need a 4 digit match, but really a 2RS or ZZ bearing will do on the shield type..

This is what I was confused with, clearance is the word I was looking for.

C3 Rating
Bearings have an internal clearance dependant on the conditions the bearing is designed to operate in, Rating CN is the standard and none specified clearance of all bearings unless stated. The external dimensions of the bearing are identical. C3 rated bearings are more tolerant of higher temperature operating conditions but have higher internal clearance to cope with it and are sometimes reported as feeling slack.

What is the model and serial No of your dishwasher

It's a Bosch SGS43T72UK/26

Simply bearings have what I think is them for £3.05 + vat each so £9 a pair posted.
They're marked as 6082ZC3, why the extra 2?

Found the bearings on Ebay, £7.10 delivered for a pair of SKF ones. The only difference in the part number is that they're ZZ not Z but I assume that means they're double shielded?
Everything else is the same, including the clearance.
Our kitchen is like an appliance repair shop at the mo, I've got the washing machine in bits too, the pressure sensor pipe is clogged causing it to overfill so the whole machine getting a damned good clean and descale.

It's a Bosch and the parts have only cost me £43 as it turned out.
