We all need to respond to the government’s public consultation on digital Identity before the first of March 2023.

This is, as Neil Oliver puts it, ‘The End Game’. We collectively must reject it or it will be passed into law. Once that has happened our new rulers will be able to totally control our every move.

Please share the document with as many people as you can & ask them to respond via the government website before 1st March 2023.

If we, the people, can inundate the gov website with objections it will help to derail it.

It has nothing to do with ID verification but everything to do with forcing everyone to comply or be shut out of society. Although some may think this is not the place to share it, we all need to be aware of what is going on, and to consider how we will function in our businesses if we are forced into a cashless society. The SMART cities are part of the new lockdowns, too. Most people think the smart means like setting smart goals, but it's very different. It's an acronym for Surveillance, Monitoring, & Asset Regulation Technology if I remember correctly. Much more sinister. Once this is in place, the tax system will be overhauled, too, to deduct all taxes directly at source. No more clever accounting. And if you or your tenants do not wish to comply with every government dictate or post something considered to be misinformation online, your digital ID can be switched off. You won't be able to access your bank and if its your tenants, that means they won't be able to pay their rent. They already did this to the truckers in Canada protesting the mandates, and they already have it running in China. Everyone should be shouting their objections to this as the ramifications are huge!

Like this tomato thing is probably to hike the prices up. Everyone will be rushing out to buy overpriced tomatoes.

Not in today's environment. Processes now span multiple departments. The silo'd design you speak of is decades out of date.

This is a democratic country and the government is acting like a communist dictatorship.

I can sense that this is your core concern. However democracy indexes don't reflect this. I can see events like Covid19 social restrictions impacted the indexes (and then returned to normal after the pandemic), and other events such as Boris Johnson's unsupported trade deal also caused movements in the index, but the indexes don't show any covert government policies.

dont forget the american system they can share your details to anyone as theres no protection at all

if there isnt why are so many wanting to gain access to our data via the nhs

american health insurance for when your working if you dont have it you have no access to medical like we have today via our nhs system

I was quoting Neil Oliver from another forum. And Neil's words were "acting like a communist dictatorship", which is an observation or assessment of the govt's open behaviour, so it seems odd that you should react to it as if it was conspiritorial, don't you think? It seems odd that you label things that appear dubious or suspicious as conspiracy automatically (which is actually a shorthand for 'conspiracy theory', a term originated and promoted by the CIA in order to discredit any real investigation into the assassination of JFK and employed ad nauseum ever since to tarnish any observation or opinion that diverges from the 'official' narrative).

How do you determine the reliability of your sources, @rcx132? Would you be able to distinguish truth from falsehood yourself and if not then how could you possibly decide who to trust to do it for you? What if there is a conspiracy and you ignore it because 'it's a conspiracy'? How many times has the government said, "oops, we got it wrong"? WMD in Iraq? Neil Furgason's covid predictions? You can believe that the state of the world is down to incompetence rather than a conspiracy to destroy our societal structures and then 'build back better' but who wants to be ruled by incompetents over conspiricists?

By the way, in case Lockey is lurking, I consider this discussion to be philosophy rather than politics. And thanks again, @rcx132, for continuing this conversation in a civil manner and for making the effort to follow my links and leads before responding.

Get yourself on a MOOC or two that has Danny Kahneman and a few other world renowned deep thinkers giving inpiut to the MOOC's . They are world leading top drawer education that almost any one with a modicum of intelligence can learn from.

Learn from them how to sort the flychit out from the pepper & where you can go for reliable data and such things . You'll also learn how to look for the words behind the words so you can get a better understanding what's really been said . It's a lot to do with questioning everything and asking questions. For as we all know questions are where the answers are to be found . II you don't like the first few answers then ask better questions .
Ask over a larger more varied scope of people , don't just look at a narrow band of people with a narrow theme /outlook in their lives
Once you start to see the patterns of the quality replies move on with it.

More like a harsh winter in the more tomato friendly growing areas knocked sowing , cloning and growing on the head for a few week s Those that used carbon fuels to heat their sheds suddenly found it uneconomical to buy in fuel to heat the greenhouse/ polytunnels . Give it a few weeks and the farming of them will have caught up and normal service will resume , unless of course Comrade Putin and his crazy crew unleash even more & bigger terror weapons on to the world stage .

It's a take down to discredit people who don't agree with you. The worrying thing is I see it happening in academia. Ideas there should be free but instead it's easy to loose funding if your findings suggest some flaw with the people who are funding you these days.

People like Newton and Einstein had a different opinion from the mainstream at the time. Engineering these days would be very difficult if they just discredited all Newton's ideas just because they didn't fit with the narrative at the time.

Do you have examples of where you've seen ideas mis labelled as mis information?

I watched the stuff that Twitter banned and Wikipedia and YouTube flagged up as mis information, but the examples i saw were serious. Like the COVID mis information, stuff that multiple governments across the world had independently verified and things that were dangerous to spread. I didn't see any opinions get labelled as mis information by any official body.

Saying vaccines might cause more harm than good for young people was misinformation. Now younger people can't get them any more because of a new risk-benefit analysis. Medical science is in a mess - it's been privatised and most of the research funding now comes from pharmaceutical manufacturers. People in that field will lose funding if they speak their mind.

But it's gone further. Anything suggesting the Nordstream was anything but a nasty Putin thing is considered misinformation when it's blindingly obvious that isn't the case. The Germans said they stopped investigating who done it after they found out who it was because of national security.

It'll be more of the same as we go on. There is a real risk in privatisation of all things as that gives big companies all the power. They will tend to use that power to benefit their shareholders on a fairly short term basis.

I suspect the earth is approximately a sphere if that helps.

Fact checkers existed for a long time. They became more well known when social media platforms had to start using them to combat COVID conspiracies.

Just because an idea is banned on social media doesn't mean that the idea is killed off. If someone thinks, for example, COVID vaccines are for population control they can still put this idea through the academic system. The issue is when people start spreading damaging unproven theories to the masses.
