Not sure where to put this so mods please feel free to move it.
A friend of mine has a demolition firm and gave me a bucket to refurb for him which needed a new cutting edge, shanks and teeth along with 2 wear strips, he also wanted some hard facing done. He likes his machines to stand out so got me to paint the bucket once repaired.
I removed the old cutting edge in one piece using a 9" grinder. I went through a few discs but it keeps the edges clean for welding to. The new one was slightly different and was also too long but a quick turn of the gas axe saw it fit nicely. It is 50mm think so needed a few multi passes inside and out and around the new shanks either end.
Each shank also had around 12-15 passes each side top and bottom so the job got quite hot.
Once the bucket looked like a bucket again I set about hard facing the sides and inside of the bucket. A friend on my mates who has a welding business down in Leister says that swirls wear slower than straight lines so I came up with this pattern for him.
His attachments are either purple or white and blue and he wanted the bucket going purple like the other one he bought from Northern Track.
Hope you like
