Diesels being really taxed

only thing I need to do is the headlights need a cut back and mop as they are a little yellow and faded other than that I’m really impressed with it

They mostly run on Bunker fuel which can have a sulfur content up to 3,500 times higher than diesel used in cars. Burning bunker fuel is responsible for 13% of the world’s sulfur dioxide pollution each year, along with 15% of the world’s NOx pollution. Both SO2 and NOx are smog-forming and a precursor to ozone, and ozone is linked to asthma, heart disease, premature death, and a range of pregnancy complications.

Hardly ever hear a word of complaint about it.
Have a 20 year old petrol Honda CRV ourselves which does everything we need of it, so not making a case for diesel cars, just saying 'tis all.

Passport lapsed years ago and see no point renewing until I persuade the wife to leave the UK.

My 87year old mother has the cleanest 07 plate 2.0 (NC) MX5 - 38000miles.

She looks smart in it with a headscarf on and the roof down.

Not quite a "her majesty the Queen look" with a head scarf. My Mother is a heavy smoker and normally has a fag hanging out of her mouth.

But all the same she has looked after the little Mazda - taken a bit of pride in it - washing it down and keeping it clean and polished.

Passport lapsed years ago and see no point renewing until I persuade the wife to leave the UK.

Been talking about this - only this evening. Wifeys passport is due in Jan 2021. We decided it maybe easy to just renew it rather than start a new aplication later on - passposts are also linked to driving license renewel - I think (photos?) yes-no?

Not been abroad this year - nor I doubt I will next summer. (Futhest I planning on holiday at the moment is the end of my own garden - for obvious reasons!)

But maybe? In the next four years I may go abroad - it may prove sensible to renew passport for wifey now.

(Plus we have aging expat relatives in Spain - you never know?)

Plus a passport is handy for opening bank accounts and the like...!

on a side note my mum is Irish and has been over here since meeting my dad in 1973

A few years ago on Christmas Day my aunt died in Ireland, mum only ever used her driving license to travel to see the family and they wouldn’t accept it as ID she didn’t even have an Irish passport to go back as she had never needed it

Just renewed my passport. Expected to be able to do it online just ticking the box to say appearance hadn’t changed. No, system has changed, need new photo, you still do it online but if you go to a passport photo shop, in my case a Timmons, they do the photos, give you a code ( and four pics ), that you enter online pay your fee , post your old passport and a new passport arrived a few days later. Less than a week start to finish.
