Delivery driver proof of delivery pictures.

We get at least one pic a week on the local Faceache groups asking if anyone recognises this door, house etc. as a parcel has been delivered to the wrong address, it seems folks will accept parcels wrongly delivered and keep the contents

well i got 8 x 50 gallon drums delivered over 3 visits. showed my postcode and a picture of them on my patio but mot my name.just gave them all away and never heard no more . would have been great if they were any use to me or i could have sold them

Most of the "who has my parcel?" photos on my local FB group are similarly vague - a photo of a parcel with such a small view of the front door that it's anyone's guess where it might be. Locals are left trying to match brick driveway patterns and/or slippers to figure out where it is. Utterly pointless taking a photo that doesn't show any useful information.

Not completely pointless, each time a photo is taken it generates a GPS stamp so all they have to do is contact the delivery company who can easily see exactly where the photo was taken.
Absolutely no use on FB though, I agree.

We have two highly visible signs with our street name and number. The only person who gets it wrong is our postie, and she lives across the road!

Our house is back to front (and upside down!) to make the most of the gobsmacking view we are lucky enough to have. So all sat navs direct couriers to a simple bolted back gate. We go so fed up with them actually either forcing the gate or throwing parcels over the top that I had a sign made. 'No parcel deliveries at this gate. Please use the main entrance'. It was only afterwards that I realized how over-grand it sounded, I might just as well have said 'give it to the butler' or 'Use the tradesman's entrance only'! Having said that, it has worked, no more forced gate or wet parcels.

Where did you get he sign from? Ann Somers emporium?

That drop is nothing compared to what happens in to parcels in depots or truck to van transfers in laybys

If its wasn't for some honest neighbours and a lot of cooperation I wouldn't receive half of what I order. Built a huge parcel delivery box for the back of the gate with clear instructions on the front to put parcels inside, they still throw them over the gate.

I worked out that they cannot read so a picture of a parcel and an arrow worked wonders

I think you are right, had a tow bar delivered the other day and that wouldn't go in there, neither does the fresh veg delivery.
That said its a godsend, saves trekking down there fifty time a day for all the online gear the kids seem hell bent on purchasing. My boots seem to last longer.

These guys do not have time to mess about leaving notes, knocking on alternative doors, looking for house signs and numbers hidden by vegetation, or on open gates, or are too small or so stylised they cannot be made out from the road, even more so when dark.

Also, if it were not for mass immigration, none of you would be getting any parcels at all, because no British person will do it for the pay and conditions they work under. I suggest that YOU step up and try it. I did, a couple of years ago. Lasted three days.

Only answer is to triple the prices and give them more time.

Only 3 days HUH !! I lasted 5 days but was already hacked off by midday on the Monday.

All the above aggro PLUS the irate customer who thinks that they are the only delivery that day.
