Its is a cosmo mini
has a 10 litre tank,
you turn it on and it builds pressure very quickly to 600 which i think is 3 bar.
and then just keeps running and dont build anymore pressure.
its been running for over 40mins and no change to it.
no air leaks
nothing. I have set the compressor to max pressure.

I dont know if it has oil in it...
I bought it 2nd hand thought i got a bargin, now maybe more of a head ache!
I dont see a pressure drop if i turn it off and leave it for afew mins
How do I find out if it has oil in it
I have just been down and switched it off and it looks like it has built alittle more pressure
Its now edging towards 800...
is that right it should take that long ?
their is a nut on the back.... i dont know what its for..
should it take over an hour to buld 600 kvpa ?

but the Yellow thing is the same.
their is a plug on the rear
and a plug at the bottom which says "drain daily"
Its 1.5hp
I dont have any plastic box that I can see or any tubes,
their is the cover over the motor/compressor
shall i take this cover off ?

Even so I would expect it to fill a small tank like that to about 10 bar in less than 10 mins??
It sounds to me like there's a small leak in the diaphram.
You "drain daily" to remove moisture; compressing air squeezes the moisture out of it and it collects in the receiver. If you don't drain it you lose capacity, the receiver may rust and you get too much moisture in the air output.

That type of compressor has a blow off valve, when it reaches full pressure (set by the spring in the valve) it just allows air to escape.
They are designed to run staple and nail guns and are not really good for anything else unless you fit a pressure on/off switch and regulator.
(in the pic you put up, the thing above the gauge with the split ring through it (like a keyring) is the blow off valve)
