Got it home today, it's a lot bigger and heavier than I was expecting.

We did tell you. They put a modern one to shame for build quality and weight, don't they. Glad to hear you got it okay. Like the flat belt setup.

How are you getting on with that drill, Maker?

It's all reassembled on my bench now, just needs a new belt and chuck.
Hopefully the taper is okay and a new Chuck will sort it out.
I may have to build some kind of stand too, it's taking up too much of my bench at the moment. I haven't really done anything with it as I've been busy with school and too cold to go outside.

Cold.....I fitted 6 bushes and 2 shocks on an M3 today.....you young uns, no stamina...lol

My lad was in a T shirt and I had t shirt . Sweat shirt and fleece on as the wind was bitter and gusting. Lol

Must admit, that wind was a tad brisk when the snow came. I was stuck outside cleaning something up when it started.

That's a really nice drill but it is let down by the range of speeds. With the lowest speed being 950 rpm the largest size you can theoretically drill in mild steel is 8mm! It's probably designed for use with aluminium. wood or plastic. You could look into getting a different set of pulleys to get the speed into a more useable range.

Or stick a 3 phase motor on as Maker already has a VFD I think.

I finally get something with a single phase motor and you tell me to change it to 3 phase.

Could just stick a slower motor on there.
