Cleared the workshop ready to strip the first one just got to make a frame for it to sit to keep it level while i unscrew the two halfs

Ok took a bit longer than I thought to get to this point but here is progress so far
cleaned out rear 'hull' and looks pretty bad definately going to need to replace floor and probably channel the axle is attached to
made a trolley out of some RSJs i had lying about so i could move it around in the workshop the steering lock is awful
Rolls about a lot easier on this!
Im quite a lot behind on progress so will keep going for as long as i can until someone actually wants me to do some work here lol

Was able to get wheels off for first time to see condition of hubs and steering looks ok
Hubs were a compete b£$t!"$d to get off leant my big hydraulic puller to a friend so had to make do with a normal one
took heat hammers swearing and a breaker bar to get most off
some how managed to bugger the thread on two of the shafts so will need to address that later
there are tubes that go from the hull to the 'torque converter' in the middle luckily these are ok
once removed its possible to get the whole assembly out (was a complete **** on rear as axle longer)
suprised to find plain bearing either side of main drive 'cog' the manual shows them as ball bearings so confirms mine is really early one
finally an empty machine now have to separate the two halfs and I knew this would be the hardest part as been together for 60 years gonna be happy that way

Or someone else has been at it before you?
The bearing housings are quite specific as the tubes shown in one of the above pictures are a push fit onto them to keep water out when its afloat , my serial number might have been missing a number as sticker ripped but says 287 and having plain bearings confirms this. They look in great condition though and considering every other bearing is fudged is amazing really

Started cutting the floors out yesterday as they were rough so no point sand blasting them also I wanted the bottom of the channel that runs the length of each hull blasted on the bottom too but the floor covered them.
this was the amount of rust that fell off cutting out just one floor !

Had to cut out the threaded ring that allows the machine to pivot as one side was totally seized, its the side that doesnt move anyway but i dont know if i can resist not making it free again... Any ideas ? Im gonna throw it in the tank of citrix acid for a week in the hope that it might help.
