It looks very clean and all good so hopefully all be good.It sounds like a bargain Spencer. Hopefully the casting won't be porous either.
Thats a lot of additional work when you have no real way of knowing if the one on the lathe is the real original, unless you have had a machine from new. I would keep the damage one but fit the new and see how it goes alignment wise.I would swap the bits over personally. The castings were scraped to fit so you'd be mating two alien castings, keep it original.

Bleeding thing would weigh more than my whole latheSpeaking of lathe chucks. My visit to colchester lathes was good. Not only looking for bits for mine. Also looking at all the other goodies. There was a huge chuck must of been 24 inches in diameter. Like to have seen what machine it was attached to
