By taking out the other piece on the brackets, the spring tab that goes on the snapping arms will be a shorter.
Finally heard back from the owner.

I love this thing! How many hours do you think you've spent on this now? I've done a few arty bits (just as a hobby, not to sell) and I'm always amazed how long things seem to take. Primarily as most of the time is spent thinking about how i want a certain thing to look rather than the actual making itself. Then, inevitably I end up redoing bits I'm not happy with. Had you planned everything in detail before making a start or do you set off with a rough design and build from there? Top work - keep the pics coming!
