    So I've warmed to this idea to make a coffee table.
    It will be a life size rat trap that could split a pumpkin, or something.

    Or a working bear trap. Finely balanced to stay closed with <undisclosed amount> full cups of tea or coffee on it. As the guests drink and the table gets lighter, it's anyone's guess when it will spring shut ...
