If I use my FE the right way up it will start to freeze, but mounting it upside down avoids that. Keeps the intake end of the dip tube above the level of the liquid gas.I did the same. The reg. froze up all the time, which meant the free gas wasn't worth it.

If I run into similar problems through using it for longer spells, I will have a serious look at one of those heaters.

But I am not where you are.Bare in mind, when the new laws for disposal of extinguishers come into force.
Using extinguishers for none fire fighting. Or disposal of said units without the correct paper work may lead to a fine or worse.
