Yes I know. Some of that though is to limit their exposure to Risk for the Premium charge - so its a commercial decision.Some insurers of classics only offer cover on limited annual mileage and use.

(My 24yo car is on a regular motoring policy & I selected an expected annual mileage of 10k, but I could have put more).
It'll be legislation that truly clips the wings of old & low cost vehicles as transport IMO.
There's undoubtedly a relentless slow squeeze being put upon cheap transport that is deliberate & cynical. The (feebly transparent) message is "save the planet", while the (plain & obvious) intent - is to force higher costs, higher taxation, & higher spending, and ever-higher turnover of equipment. Its Consumerism over Conservation personified (but "justified" by claiming its the other way around).
It's a massive con job that most are frankly too dim to spot.
