Hi all.
Bought myself a Clarke Mig welder. Model 102NG and it came along with the Clarke 0.9mm fluxed cored wire.
I'm looking to do some repair work on my project car. So mostly bodywork stuff.
Got myself a sheet of mild steel thickness 0.9 mm.
Hooked up the welder and had a crack on some test pieces. Just trying to join to small bits together.
Set the welder to its absolute lowest settings and well it's a nightmare. Trying to do small spot welds and it's just blows through.
Attached photos shows how I have got along but it's a mess. What am I doing wrong? The reviews on machine mart had this down as a good welder for light work and I thought it would be perfect for me to use for my project.
Is the gasless a waste of time to use on thin metal?
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks
