What size and type of fuse/rcd protects the circuit it was plugged into? A 13a fuse will allow much more than 13a to flow for long enough to cause damage, i would of expected the upstream devise to fail 1st if the motor had a short.

The motor was just wired to a nvr switch and a emergency stop button but the plug was wired to a 16a slow beaker/fuse the inside of the 13a plug is all burnt around the live pin and it blew the fuse in that after 15miniuts

Just to let anyone know if they are interested I took it back and forth explained about it melting a plug and the manager wanted to send it away for testing right until I told him about my wiring advice from a worker he didn't believe me until he asked him after that he seemed more than happy to refund it
