Wahey! Nice one mate, well done. Was it an option to enable in the machine or did you need another bit of hardware?
Nice choice of drive letter as well
Have you used a pi? Or found another solution?
A drives
Just have it on a short extender lead at the moment
Yes, have been looking at them but not sure which way it is, will have to look tomorrow if I remember.. Would actually be better if the cable was pointing up or down, might make my own up if I can't get what I want.
It has to come out the front.this is what I got for my cnc panel, cheap enough, less that a fiver, then you can install it in any orientation you need
presuming that you can connect it to the system panel, or does it have to come off the front panel.

I think the USB is very close to the underside of the door but as said I could mill an aperture out.Would it have the length to engage the connectors through the door?
Is there another USB out in the rear of the case that you could put a lead into and have a socket fitted in a better area?
I have no idea as I would have to open up the CNC control but I suspect it will be soldered direct to a PCB. One of the above adapters will provide a neat solution I would think so not going to bother opening up the case.that's a pity
presume theres no way to piggyback the usb wiring in the controller? quick bit of soldering... no bother to a man of your calibre... or is it on the card direct?
Very kind offer, will have a look later on when I get to the workshop and see what my options are. TBH I am not too worried about keeping the door original.I could 3D print you a new door with an aperture in it, if you wanted to keep the original?
