Anybody use ACF50 at all? I find it works well on stopping corrosion, protecting metals etc, but is pretty spendy stuff.

I think the big problem is that many of these oils try to be a jack of all trades. Something WD40 does very well. A good penetrating oil is very thin - like Plus Gas - and not so good at corrosion protection. You need a much thicker clingier oil for that.
I sprayed my lathe and Eliott milling machine with some thick black stuff 20 years ago. Not a patch of rust in all that time. Of course now the lathe is in use had to clean it off and keep it very well oiled. I think it was wire rope spray from Rocol but as it was 20 years ago I am not sure - certainly did it's stuff though!

I used to use chain lube and spray on grease - but nothing would match that black stuff for very long term protection!

I only buy this Triple QX stuff as it's cheap & I can't justify the price of WD40 aerosols

Much prefer an aerosol compared to the spray bottles tbh

Sometimes Tesco have the big aerosols of WD40 on sale at £2.99 - I usually buy a few.

Good for bikes. I've always planned to get a 5L container but never quite got round to it and normally just use the £15 tins. It seems to go quite far and stays in place for a lot longer than some of the other maintenance type sprays.

Use it on the XT over winter, put it on with a paintbrush / rag dipped in it so it has a film and not drowned!

I was advised to stick the can in a bowl of hot water, before use, then it comes out a lot finer. It works quite well.
