evening all....
just a question about the 100x100 .x5mm box section for my chassis jig..i was down my local metal supplies today asking about the box section..i noticed the outside of the box has a large radius..when it comes to joining the two together.flat/radius.there will be a large gap..now i have welded the same on 3x2 ect..but not 100x100...is there a particular method in welding this jiont or is a case of the same aplies with the smaller box.....

With box section as the guage of it thickens the radius of the corners becomes bigger and creates a fairly big gap to fill,
with mig turn the heat down a bit and concentrate the weld more so to radiused side and lick it across to the cut end butted to it,
Same principle with tig, just need to fire the filler rod in a bit quicker,

Practice on a few scraps first till you find the right settings and method,

You could also run a pass along the radius only to narrow the gap and then another pass to bridge the two.

ok cool....will get some 100x 100 off cuts as they have a few kicking about and have a bash..have done it loads on smaller box..but not this big..thanks for the reply.....

who makes the lower control arms kits for strange struts...have been on there web but no information on them....have googled it.but most are for parcific make/model of car....

We usually make them adjustable in cds or moly tube.

If you buy the Strange struts new as a kit you can include the lower arm kit that only need the threaded bungs welding in to your a-arm length.
