Hi all, forgive the beginner question:
I've just changed gas from CO2 to CO2 Argon mix (using Clarke 151TE, 8mm).
Im finding with the new gas, that im doing beautiful spatter free welds when welding on a flat horizontal surface.
Trying to weld on a vertical though, im really struggling - everything is just landing on the floor, hot rocks everywhere and it wont stick much at all. I never used to have this problem with CO2.
As im arcing and pushing the bead along now, I have a green orb where im striking (obvs cos of the new gas), which Is obviously present when both horizontal or vertical.
Any advice as to what im doing wrong on the vertical? PS cant turn it horizontal as its the frame for a huge new workbench!
