Autotune is coming in for all commercial saws, they have to be run flat out in a cut for so many minutes to calibrate. The electronics can be read like OBD on a car and tell how long the saw has been in operation and how long it has stood on tickover. My Husqvarna is a strato engine they call it X-torq and it does cut fuel consumption, compared to my old Stihl it sips fuel.

Farts are probably carcinogenic in the state of California; pretty much everything else is.

I love the new Stihl's I have a 441CM and the 261CM, got loads of saw here, old 08S (brand new in a box) and some real OLD saws, I use the Dolmar 166 for planking, its better than my MS880! Shows you some things are just always good! Made to last! Ask me in 20 years if the CM saws still run haha, oh and I have a baby MS150C amazing little thing, 23cc its tiny!

Also have a concrete chainsaw, diamond chain , fancy a new doorway!

A mate has one of the new ones they have to go on a lap top like car diag machine to be adjusted while it might be better for the environment I bet it is certainly not better for our pockets to me this seems a little extreme I bet you could run a few million old chainsaws for the toxic output of one jumbo engine.

But when it craps its self in the middle of nowhere in the middle of a job, not going to be fixing an ecu with a wire brush and spanner are you

I like the mill , when you set out on the first cut to get a level plane , do you slip a pre made frame on the log and screw it secure & level or do you use two heavy square tubes or angle iron length s and level them in the same plane with wedges before screwing them down tight or use some other way ?

No, but I thought about that when I upgraded mine, in 30 years I have never been able to fix a cut out saw / broken down in the woodland etc, it will be coil, piston, whatever but rarely or never in my case something that can be fixed with an axe, chock, file, petrol can or my lunch or whatever else you have at hand at the time.

I use an alloy ladder strap and make first cut, works a treat

Well as the years go by the saws need to be lighter, and smaller, and slower, you know, as much as I cut wood coz I HAVE to (only heating in house) I seem to be feeling the strain these days, the 150 seemed like a good idea as easy work haha, no kidding, I use it for small stuff but you can guess that haha

Many years ago at the woodyard I worked in there was an old 250cc Danarm with an extra handle on the end of the bar which I think was about 48" It sounded like a trials bike.
