Chain saw sharpener

i popped into lidl on friday to get some bits

and spotted these sharpeners, thought il get some details of it while i was there.]

That's the one I've had for a couple of years. I've used it in conjunction with file sharpening

i have the same one mounted on a piece of angle so it can be clamped in the vice and put away when not needed

Mines bolted to a piece of 2x1 with a hole drilled in it to hang it up, same idea. It works well on 3/8" and .325 chain and I've heard of people using it on .404 as well though it doesn't say on the box

Stihl saw with a 12" tct wood blade in it..You need to make a spacer up as the spindle size is not compatable with blade bore size. Ive used this method now for 10 years cutting plywood sheets up for roofs and also tried the beast on tree roots when renovating a large property.Works a treat but not very safe iff your not confident so ignore my post

You are only other guy I know then that does this. Great method, because what people forget is that our Stihl's have a clutch which stops drive if the blade jams. IE it doesn't kick back badly as the blade just stops turning till you free it.
