I'm pretty sure that priming bulb goes on the return line .
Definitely on the feed on my two machines.

I sort of think this might have one of those. I say that as I have been to local parts place (last one left there used to 4 but only the larger one survived as they sell a lot of machinery to trades) and now \i have coloured pipes its even more confusing..lolStihl chainsaw carb have an ‘impulse pipe’ from the crank case to move the fuel. They are rubbery but go hard and are worthwhile replacing on servicing the saw.
It's dearer than spun gold at my local servicing place![]()
In my limited experience of motorized tools there are two pipes, flow and return. The feed comes from the priming pump and the return goes straight back to the tank.
That actually makes more sense to me . But my son works on all sorts of machines from formlifts to stihl saws and and thinks its like seadogs machines.Primer button on chainsaws is after the carb and draws fuel through and back to the tank. Which end of the carb is the pipe ? The brass one looks like the impulse pipe which takes crank case pressure to pump fuel into the carb.
cant find him in advanced search by seller chap. could you post an item he is selling if you would be so kind?“Blindstickinsect” on eBay is a good source of parts for many obscure chainsaws and I’ve found them very helpful over the years keeping my Stihl 023 and 038’s running well past their design life.
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpqca7L2YYDN-BIHUQ2TfAA?pbjreload=102 this one??often as cheap to buy a carb as it is a repair kit and a lot less bother , last one I bought was about 12 quid for a carb and 8 quid for a repair kit , I bought 5 fuel hoses with filters and return hoses for 3 pounds , all free delivery , but all took about three weeks from china.
have a look at Steves Small Engine Shop on you tube , he does some great videos on setting up small engines .

I was thinking the same. But how to get into the place where it goes back to the tank is more than difficult.
Yep. I stripped it down more and found that brown pipe was the other side of the priming bulb.
I put it all back together and again it runs but keeps stopping.
So checked what any normal person would have checked first. Fuel filter and found the pipe inside fuel tank disintegrated......biggest problem is. I need it for the weekend so need to get a filter and pipe locally.

in relation to the above images. the photo here is a clear photo of my carb. I am confused however which of the two nipples would be refferenced small or large.I have found some diagrams which might explain my errors.View attachment 261154 View attachment 261155
I think this the most confusing as I dont think the cheaper saws have an impluse pipe. To me its logical that the plastic pipe on the carb would be fuel IN from the filter.....BUT I am not convinced as its not running correctly yet.Primer button on chainsaws is after the carb and draws fuel through and back to the tank. Which end of the carb is the pipe ? The brass one looks like the impulse pipe which takes crank case pressure to pump fuel into the carb.
