This welder is quite old, like its operator, but lately has become erratic in operation, also like its operator!!, with the wire working/not working, arc working/not working and I suspect the contactor may need attention. Now I have removed it and thought it worthwhile to put in a new one. I bought one on-line for less that £15 but struggled to ascertain what the coil voltage should be. Written on the old one was "24" so I assumed it was 24V, so I bought one accordingly. Fitted it and tried it but the coil is not pulling in. Now I have either got the connections incorrect or I have the wrong coil voltage.???
I have seen reports whereby people categorically state they are 240v coils and others say definitely 24v coil. How can I tell which one is correct????? The original contactor looks OK but I dont know how to access the contacts to clean them. Can anyone shed any light as to the correct coil voltage and how to clean the contacts of the original Fantini Cosmi HR 0910.
Many thanks
David
