Cat's done a woopsie

So, our cat has got caught short and decided to go for a wee down the centre of the two seater sofa. and the smell seems to be a permanent new addition to our seating arrangements.
"we'll just get a new sofa" came the declaration.
Like a lot of you here, If I'm paying, I suggested we take a more considered approach.
Any solutions from you good folk here?

If its fresh I would suggest dilution with plenty of fresh soapy water, (preferably laundry liquid soap) will not do any harm and should give a better outcome. Blast it with dehumidifier to dry it.

I briefly rented a room, the landlady had two daughters, a big old cat, and small white-with pink tails-handbag bark machine.
Every morning the laminate hallway had a fresh puddle and a present in the kitchen. I did not stay long!

A bit harsh, poor bloody cat likely couldn't help it.

You can get all sorts of enzyme cleaners that claim wonderful results. And they do massively improve things - but a decade after one of mine used to use the hall carpet, you can still get a whiff, depsite numerous applications back then.

Problem is the smell reminds them where to go again . . .

I think you might be reconsidering the "new sofa" suggestion in not so long a time . . .

Nothing worse. Our old she cat didn't know where she was at the end. Would mess anywhere. We gave her a dirt tray and kept her in the conservatory. Thought we'd cleaned up after her but couldn't trace the still strong, rather metallic smell. A mix of 3/4 lino and 1/4 quarry tiled floor and we'd scrubbed everywhere.

Turns out she'd crawled behind a sofa and wee'd on a bundle of 15mm copper pipe. Ruined the lot.

Enzyme based pet odour remover - it really works. (We used to use it to kill the smell of diesel in the cabin of our old boat).

What did you do to the sofa?

Steamer can help , although it can cause some fabric dyes to change colour a bit if a scrubby head is used at the same time.

Also diluting the wee with a lot of water first during and after.

Only time ours has had a problem is when he's been unwell. Even then, most of the time he'll run upstairs and pad around our bedroom until we get the hint.
The only time we haven't been able to get there in time he's made a beeline for the shiniest bit of wood flooring in the rear of the house rather than do it on carpet or furniture.

I have a lady friend who recently took on a cocker spaniel, previous owners had it from a pup but were having to move in with an elderly parent as carers and taking the dog wasn't an option.
Obviously being a new addition to the family various visitors, kids etc, on xmas day were feeding it bits of their dinner.
I joined her for a walk yesterday; typical spaniel it never bloody stopped running around... but then about every 20 yards it would stop and - I can't even say extrude, more like spray - practically fluorescent effluent at the shrubbery. I had flashbacks to a similar situation I was in a while back... but let's not revisit that
I'm guessing it's been on starvation rations today.

our family of 3 dogs and 4 cats all live well together.....
but the cats have access to a toilet box for night time probs.....
clumping litter is the trick for smells......
100% baking soda.....
