Please can you explain, as my understanding is that the DPF is in the exhaust well away from injectors. I can only imagine two causes? When regen occurs, it floods with fuel to raise the dpf temperature and burn it out, or the large amount of exhaust gas recirculation causes the intake and injectors to soot up, this seems more likely to me but cars without DPF still use EGR...![]()
Extra diesel injected off stroke - goes past the rings.
The extra diesel is to raise the temp of the DPF to burn soot off.
Washing the bores is the technical term.
