Charity bags are good, we get 2 or 3 most weeks. They say they will pick the empty ones up but they just get left outside the door for ages till I bring them back in and they get used for bin liners then. I used to feel guilty about it but not any more.
If the company has more than 250 employees, then it has to charge for bags. Another bit of half-hearted legislation in my opinion.

What is it 2 odd years ago the carrier bag ban came in ?

Those blue boxes with handles & lid that Sainsbury's used to do are handy, never used one for shopping, but superb in the shed. Don't think you can get them now.Many years ago Sainsburys was giving away the re-usable type bags to discourage the use of thin (now 5p) ones, while the offer was on we accumulated about a dozen and haven't bought one since as they replace any worn out ones for free![]()
Think in Scotland it's all shops. I could be wrong though.
