I have a can of the original Waxoyl and am thinking about spraying it inside the doors and cills when I get round to swapping back to my summer alloys @ tyres.

I'd be using my small compressor and a parrafin gun, what is best for thinning it after heating to improve the viscosity of the Waxoyl? Thinners?

White spirit I think but check.

Dinitrol ML is my choice for cavities.

My old boss had a H reg, ex BT escort van. By this point most had rotted away.
When he bought it 3 years old he filled it with waxoyl, I mean filled it to the point it used to leak out on warm days.

I saw it about 2 years ago, still rust free

I used Dinotrol on my 92 Lancia 15yrs ago. After partial sill replacement a few years ago, I used the Noxodol stuff - I'll let you know in 10 years if it works. Applied it everywhcih way to my rust free American import a year of two ago. Used Bilthamber under body wax on surfaces where I could get with an underseal gun.

I've been using my stocks of Waxoyl up on my 92 Peugeot - original sill - seems to be working - I think the fact I reapply it regularly (every year or so) helps.

Both cars I used a pressurised gun and long extension tubes with a decent nozzle on the end - shove it down and then pull back out steadily with the trigger pulled - you can see the mist of stuff escaping from cavities as you go.

I wouldn’t try and paint inside sills with a spray extension, thought about it as well. You don’t want a big collection along the bottoms and other areas trapping water/moisture and blocking drain holes etc. Ideally a good well prepped coverage inside the sills would be ideal, real world they might already have rust and you aren’t treating it and no guarantee paint will stick.

I'm assuming the outer sills are taken off to get access to derust the inside. Otherwise you just have to do the best you can with dinitrol etc.

I'm pretty sure my e60 has holes pre-drilled and fitted with grommets to do the sills and doors.

The jag has lots of holes......mainly rust holes... and water/rust traps...

I've emptied a tin of waxoyl in 10 seconds after heating, nozzle too open. Also emptied one in a second but that's another story....
Proper shutz guns are cheap (tenner)
